Follow the King of Kings

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

At the core of Our Country Our Choice, the foundational conviction that drives this organization is that God’s Word is True.

The Bible says, Your word is truth” (John 17:17). Therefore, the Bible is our handbook and Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.

We make the path of salvation available. The truth of Gods Word sets people free from sin and the eternal consequences of it. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32). The the path of salvation is by the grace of God and personal faith in Jesus Christ crucified for your sin. That leads to eternal life in heaven. Jesus said, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me” (John 14:6).

OCOC invites all Bible abiding Christians to be become members. If you are not a Christian and want to become a member, that is great too. You know who we are. We can work together for the good of all Americans. Uniting together will enable us to preserve our country, GOD WILLING!  ~ DEO VOLENTE ~

Colonel Douglas MacGregor speaks to pressing issues in our nation. Our Country Our Choice’s battle plan is the empowerment of the American people, to help them identify and elect representatives who prioritize traditional American values. Knowing that the political side is being worked on, what is our Christian duty?

Prayer and participation. Pray with us on Facebook, become a member on the website, and point Christian business owners, conservative organizations and churches to OCOC as a resource for truth and action. It is my privilege to speak to those same issues from a Christian worldview and to equip Christians to make a difference in the areas that matter (freedom of speech, religious liberty, separation of church and state, LGBTQ+, social issues, etc.). Christians cannot be afraid to speak to moral issues. The Bible is not silent in these areas. Truth in love is the answer.

In times past, God has totally changed the direction of a nation. He is able. Daniel 2:21 says, “He removes kings and establishes kings…” Nineveh is an example of what God can do. The Bible says, “it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…” (Romans 1:16).

God used a reluctant prophet to spread the life changing Gospel to a pagan nation. The nation repented and was transformed! This is our prayer for our country. Join us in prayer and participate in working toward national revival.

If we believe that Christ “is the image of the invisible God” (Colossians 1:15) and that He is all powerful, then we must be real and authentic in our faith to put ACTION behind our belief.

Christ “is the head of the body, the church” (Colossians 1:18). Therefore, we the church must pray for change in our nation. But also, participate in the solutions.

OCOC is leading the way forward for Christian’s in American. As a pastor, I am extremely grateful for Col Megregor and his leadership to move our country back to its founding values. He and I both believe it God wills, this is possible!

Grateful, Dr. Casey A. Butner

“But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine.”      (Titus 2:1)

What really matters? The answer is, Christ and Christ alone. Christ is supreme above all earthly authorities. In fact, all authority has been given to Him. Who is Christ? What is Christianity? Christianity today is in need of clarification. What is it to be a Christian and what do we believe? The main aim for the Christian is to glorify Christ and enjoy an inseparable union with Him. As knowledge of Christ increases so does ones inner joy and desire to spread the good news of Jesus Christ crucified.

Doctrine is what matters because that explains what Christ said. True doctrine is from the Word and Jesus is the Word. The Bible has a self authoritative claim. “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness” (2nd Timothy 3:16). The Scriptures are the gauge from which everything is compared to be true or false. “Every word of God is pure” (Proverbs 30:5). That means the Scriptures are proven, tested, and completely true. There are no contradictions, mistakes, or flaws in God’s holy Word. It is filled with such sound doctrine that Jesus Himself endorsed personally.

Jesus endorsed the Scriptures personally by stating to the unbelieving Pharisees that the Old Testament was testifying of Him. “You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; it is these that testify about Me; and you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life” (John 5:39-40). That kind of sound doctrine separates the sheep from the goats. Jesus said they were “unwilling” and that made them responsible for their unbelief. The invitation for the unbelieving to “come to Me so that you may have life” is sobering. Even though they had the Old Testament writings of Moses, they still were not seeing the true doctrine of Jesus Christ. In fact, the writing of Moses is what will “accuse” them and prove their guilt. Jesus said, “Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father; the one who accuses you is Moses” (John 5:45). Then, Jesus repeats the same doctrinal claim that the Old Testament speaks of Him. “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me” (John 5:46). The Old Testament if filled with sound doctrine that points to Jesus Christ.

~ ALL OF THE BIBLE IS TRUE AND TRUSTWORTHY ~

Paul pointed out the foolishness of the Galatians in the same way Jesus pointed out the stubbornness of the Pharisees. Paul was contending for the truth of the Gospel in the face of severe pharisaical opposition. He said, “But we did not yield in subjection to them (Pharisees) for even an hour, so that the truth of the Gospel would remain with you” (Galatians 2:5). Paul is standing upon sound doctrine and not shrinking back an inch. Paul’s concern was faithfulness to God and not fear of men. He called them out saying, “You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? (Galatians 3:1). Then, just as Jesus verified that the Old Testament points to Himself, so Paul makes the same claim. “Therefore the Law (Old Testament) has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith” (Galatians 3:24). The Pharisees did not understand that the Old Testament sound doctrine clearly pointed to Christ as Savior.

~ ALL OF THE BIBLE POINTS TO JESUS ~

Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy make up the Old Testament Torah for which the Jewish Pharisees knew extremely well. These first five books of the Bible clearly point to Jesus. Genesis states that sin effected all of creation and humanity. Exodus clearly states by The Ten Commandments that all are guilty of sin. Leviticus clearly states that atonement for your sin is by the shedding of blood (Leviticus 17:11). Numbers clearly states that we can be sure our sin will find us out (Numbers 32:23). Then, Deuteronomy clearly states that “The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet (Jesus) like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him. – ‘I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he (Jesus) shall speak to them all that I command him (Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18). This sound doctrine is captivating. For the soul that is searching, they can only keep searching because their heart is consumed. No matter how sinful of a situation one finds themselves in, if they will seek God with all their heart, they will find Him. “But from there you will seek the LORD you God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul (Deuteronomy 4:29).

~ ALL WHO SEEK CHRIST FIND HIM ~

Sound doctrine only gets clearer as the epochs of time pass. The Pharisees whom Jesus and Paul where sparing with are ten times more accountable because they knew the Scriptures. Especially the Pharisees Paul proclaimed the Gospel to because they all knew of the prophet Jesus from Nazareth who was crucified in Jerusalem for claiming to be God. Listen to how clear Isaiah’s prophesy is of Jesus. “He was despised and forsaken of men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and like one from whom men hide their face He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; like a lamb that is led to slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth (Isaiah 53:3-7). This is the doctrine of the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ.

~ CHRIST PAID FOR YOUR SIN PUNISHMENT ~

Sound doctrine is needed for salvation. Furthermore, understanding sound doctrine is needed for salvation. Mankind in their sinful approach to obtain salvation in any other way besides God’s prescribed ways of repenting of sins and having faith in Christ crucified, buried and resurrected for sin has tried and tried and tried and died and died and died. The repetition of trying and dying is the greatest plague in human history. Jesus testifies of a rich man in hell pleading for another way for his own relatives to be reached other than the sound doctrine found in the Scriptures. This rich man really believed that another method of evangelism would work better than the Scriptures. The account is of two men dying and the rich man “lifted up his eyes, being in torment…. Cried out and said…. I beg you, father, that you send him to my father’s house – for I have five brothers – in order that he may warn them (evangelize), so that they will not also come to this place of torment… if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!” (phrases from Luke 16:19-30).

~ REPENT AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL. WHEN YOU DIE IT’S TOO LATE ~

That sounds like an honest plea.  In part, the rich man is honestly pleading for someone to share the life saving gospel to his family. He thinks that if his family hears of or sees a dead person resurrected then they will repent and believe. But that is not God’s way. “So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ (Romans 10:17). True “hearing” is understanding. Information does not go in one ear, and out the other. To truly hear is to understand… “the word” of Christ. It is vital that we understand how important the Scriptures are. Why? Because others come to saving faith in Jesus by understanding the word. We are to explain the word of Christ to people before it is too late. The Rich man pleaded, cried, and through his agony was in more emotional pain than physical pain because of his unbelieving children. He knew that it was too late and that he should have explained the truth of Jesus Christ crucified with them. As Jesus wrapped up this account, He points to the sufficiency of Scripture unto salvation for the rich mans family.

The Doctrine of the Sufficiency of Scripture is sound enough, strong enough, and capable enough for the lost to be saved and escape eternal torment. After the rich man begged for a resurrected evangelist to go tell his family what he should have told them, Jesus replied; “They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them…. If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead (phrases from Luke 16:29-31).

~ SHARE CHRIST NOW WITH LOVED ONES ~

How important is it to proclaim sound doctrine? Sound doctrine saves lives. Shallow doctrine kills lives. The shallow doctrine of the rich man who most likely thought he was a good man did not do him any good. In fact, all the good he had ever done now placed him in the worst place of eternal pain and suffering that is far beyond any pain experienced in this body.

Jesus affirmed the authority and fulfillment of Scripture all the way down to the smallest letter in the Word of God. Jesus verified that the Old Testament Law and the words of the prophets would be fully accomplished. “Do not think that I cam to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches other to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever keeps and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom in the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:17-19).

How important is it to teach sound doctrine? Not only is it completely verified by Christ that it is the Scriptures that have full authority and sufficiency for life and godliness, but you will “be called great in the kingdom of heaven” if you “teach others these commandments,” these beliefs, these doctrines.

“For I am ready not only to be bound, but even to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus” (Acts 21:13).

~ NOTHING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE TRUTH ~

JESUS IS THE WAY, TRUTH, AND LIFE ~ John 14:6

Doctrine simply means, true belief. These valuable beliefs are from Christ. Specifically, doctrine is the expressed beliefs that come from the Scriptures, that is Genesis to Revelation. Doctrines are a combined group of united teachings the expound upon the the beliefs that make a difference between heaven and hell are being diminished in todays world. In fact, the indoctrination of secular values is the predominate philosophy of the education system in America.

~ WE MUST SPEAK ~

God bless,

Dr. Casey A. Butner

THE FOUNDERS DEFINED IT DIFFERENTLY.

Faith in God is the foundation of civil government. Who believed that? George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, John Hancock, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, John Quincy Adams and countless others. They knew what failed previously in England. So they separated the church from ruling, but not influencing.

Faith in God and religious freedom are two primary reasons why America was founded. Laws protect human rights, right! No wonder our founding fathers laced all the founding documents with Christian virtue, values and inserts of Scripture.

Bamboozled we have been since then! Christian’s have been cheated out of their rightful rights. Fooled we have been for the majority of our lives into silence and distanced from governmental affaires. Debacles, miss-information and twisting history is their game. What then is our aim?

We Aim to proclaim the TRUTH in all areas of life. This misuse of separating the Church from Government is crippling American life. It is not what the founders meant. John Adams said, “The general principle on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity.”

FACT: If the principles of Christian faith do not influence the governing of America and laws enacted, we will witness further corruption, chaos, and collapse. Evil’s agenda is mapped out in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;” However, John 10:10 also provides hope. The rest of the verse says; “….I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” The facts are; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness stem from Christ alone. Therefore, allowing the separation of the Churches and Christian’s influence in government will result in history repeating itself. Throughout the centuries, any society that turned away from Christianity and embraced sexual freedom and political anarchy declined rapidly and eventually dissipated.

America’s unique values must be protected and passed on. Our Christian values and democracy have formed our unique country. The battle is clear. It is fighting to keep Christian values foundational. The devil wishes to divide and destroy and have a great reset to dismantle and destroy America. Loosing the battle of rightly defining “Separation of Church and State” could cost the war.                                ~ TOGETHER, WE CAN STOP THE DEBACLE.
